Lord Jesus,
my thoughts have been running all day, and I cannot get them to stop.
You said your peace is not the world's peace. Let me have that peace tonight.
Take the arguments I have kept rehearsing.
Take the worry I have carried for people I love and cannot help from here.
Take the small things that grew large after dark.
Come and quiet me, the way you quieted the sea.
Let me sleep in your keeping. Amen.
