The Anniversary of a Loss (What to Send on the Day You Both Remember)
The anniversary of a loss is a day the family dreads and the people around them often forget. If you were going to send flowers, send this instead.
What to say, plainly
"I remembered today. I love you." Send it in the morning, not the evening; a text or a phone call. A friend who forgot for eleven months and remembers on the twelfth is still a friend the family wants.
The films that fit
- A Memorial Film for Them - a short film that says the person's name and the small things they were known for. Plays at a graveside, at a table, in the car on the drive to the cemetery.
- A Memorial Prayer for Them - a short prayer in Jesus's voice, spoken over the family, with the person's name in it.
- A Message Written for Them - for the surviving spouse or child, a short film in Jesus's voice saying their name and speaking to what this day is like for them.
