A Love Letter from Jesus to You (for the Days You Need It)
Some days you need to hear it plainly: you are known, and you are loved. Below is a letter written in Jesus's voice. Every line of it comes from a promise in the Bible, and the verses are set out after it, so you can read each one where it stands.
Read it slowly. If you can, read it out loud, and put your own name after the first two words.
The letter
My child,
I know your name. Before you ever said a word to me, I had already called you by it, and you
are mine.
I have loved you with a love that has no beginning and no end, and I have never stopped drawing you
close.
I know the weight you are carrying today. Bring it to me. You do not have to be strong for me to
stay.
Your name is written on the palms of my hands. I do not forget you, not for a moment.
On the days you feel invisible, remember that I rejoice over you, and I sing over you.
Rest now. I am here.

"I know your name":
Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.
"A love that has no beginning and no end":
Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.
"Bring it to me":
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
"Your name is written on the palms of my hands":
Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands.
"I sing over you":
He will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.
Ways to keep it close
- Write your name in it by hand. Print it, and write your name after "My child".
- Keep it where you'll see it: inside a Bible, on the fridge, in your wallet.
- Send it to someone who needs it today. A friend in the hospital, a son far from home, a mother worn out from caring for everyone.
