Bible Verses for Healing (When Someone Is Sick)
Scripture takes sickness seriously. It does not promise a miracle every time, and it does not condemn a family who did not get one. These are the verses families read at bedsides.
The verses
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: and the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up.
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases.
Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise.
I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee.
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
When to read them
- At the bedside, before you leave.
- In the waiting room.
- In the car after the phone call.
- On the anniversary of a diagnosis you have been living with.
