What to Send a Friend Going Through Something Hard

When a friend is walking through something hard, the choice is not what to say - the choice is what to send that says it for you. Here is a short list.
Send a prayer, not a card
Cards say "thinking of you". A prayer says "here is what I asked for on your behalf". The gift your friend keeps is the second one.
Our three picks
- A Prayer Film for Them - Jesus prays over your friend by name. Their family can play it in a hospital room or a car ride.
- A Message Written for Them - you write the words, we put them in Jesus's voice with their name. For a friend who has been going through this for a while and who needs to hear something specific.
- A Memorial Prayer - a short prayer in Jesus's voice, no pictures, no music, for a friend in the first days after a loss.
When to send it
- The morning after the diagnosis.
- The Sunday after the funeral.
- The anniversary of the loss.
- The week no-one else is calling any more.
A short letter to leave with the gift
The love letter from Jesus is a plain one-page reading for the friend who wants Scripture to say it. Print it, write their name on top, put it inside a card.
